It’s not even technically summer yet and this evening heat is annoying

So last night after getting SearXNG back up and running, I spent some time properly setting it up through Caddy on my VPS to make it only accessible on my Tailnet. It was fairly straightforward. I also spent some more time setting up the config to my liking.

For the bikers, what’s your favorite app for tracking/planning/navigating? I’ve been using bikemap, testing Ride with GPS, but seeing what others use?

One part of AI (LLMs) that I think about are folks who maybe don’t have the financial means, time, or knowledge base to develop an app but have a great idea for one! (Maybe they’re working multiple jobs, not on Mastodon, 100 other variables here.)

I know the pitfalls of not understanding the code that comes out, etc., but I understand it can be an attractive tool to get that idea out of their brain into something that looks like their idea.

There are of course freelance and other developers who could’ve helped them who they couldn’t pay or it would make other parts of life difficult to do so.

I guess I wonder how is that gap bridged? Do folks know of free app developer services that allow the person with the idea to retain some or all rights to the app? The answer can’t be, “they can teach themselves,” etc. (see paragraph 1 for framing).

This isn’t to advocate for or against LLMs but identifying a gap and trying to find alternatives to using LLMs.

Anyway. That’s been kicking around in my head.

Hm, my SearXNG seems to be down and I’m not sure why.

The chef yells out to the team, “86 the fries!”

The team goes on a vengeful war path to assassinate all fries.

My daily commuter for the past almost 2 years has been a cargo e-bike.

We finally got our mountain bikes serviced and trail ready and hit 22 miles in a state park yesterday. It hasn’t been our first ride without pedal assists, but certainly the roughest (though not very rough) and steepest grade route we’ve done in quite a while.

This is all to say that I am feeling yesterday’s ride 😂 😢
